Accrediting a course
The Natural Birth Education and Research Centre is a registered charity that works with universities and private institutions to develop educational strategies for childbirth education and practice initiatives.
When assessing a course for accreditation we convene an independent body of experts that include educationalists, birthing specialists to review the curriculum, suggest changes if appropriate and finally endorse the course.
Our accreditation of a course provides a statement of quality that is bestowed by unbiased experts.
When accreditation is authorized it is valid in the first instance for two years. After this initial period the institution is required to provide evidence of course evaluation and the curriculum then undergoes a further review by a panel of experts. Following the second review the course is accredited for a period not exceeding five years.
The review process is a costly one, with the initial accreditation process costing in the region of $2,000 (Australian). However we do have access to funding that enables Natural Birth Inc to offer accreditation incentives to small institutions whose work furthers the cause of natural birth around the world.
If you are interested in course accreditation please contact the register for an application form and further information.
